Amanda Westervelt, MS, CSC, RMHCI

Every journey toward healing starts with a safe space — and my goal is to create one where kids, teens, and families feel genuinely supported and understood. I’m a Registered Mental Health Counseling Intern with over ten years of experience as a Certified School Counselor, where I worked closely with children and families through both everyday struggles and life-altering challenges.I use a person-centered approach grounded in empathy, encouragement, and emotional safety. I integrate cognitive-behavioral strategies, DBT-informed techniques, and creative expression through play-based interventions, arts and crafts, and sand tray work. These tools help clients of all ages — especially younger ones — find their voice and confidence in a way that feels natural and empowering. My experience includes working with ADHD, anxiety, depression, and emotional dysregulation, and I’m especially passionate about helping children and families strengthen resilience, communication, and connection. Therapy with me is collaborative — I’ll meet you where you are and support you at a pace that feels right.Outside of the therapy room, I love painting, beach days, cooking with spontaneous dance breaks, and spending time with family, friends, and my daughter. I’m also a proud cat mom and a firm believer in the power of laughter, creativity, and small moments of peace. If you’re seeking a therapist who brings experience, heart, and a down-to-earth approach, I’d be honored to support your growth and goals along the way.
